The FRAX® tool has been developed to evaluate fracture risk of patients. It is based on individual patient models that integrate the risks associated with clinical risk factors as well as bone mineral density (BMD) at the femoral neck.
FRAX® is now available to download in two standalone versions that can operate on a desktop or laptop computer without internet access:
This version mimics the front end of the current web version of FRAX (version 4.7) and can be used to assess an unlimited number of individual patients in the clinic or other healthcare setting.
This version is designed for researchers to handle analyses of large cohorts in a single operation. Data is entered through a simple text file, the format of which is described under the help button on the screen, and the results are exported into another text file that can then be imported back into your database.
In order to cover the maintenance costs of the websites and the development of future versions of FRAX, we have had to apply a fee to these downloads (handled via PayPal). FRAX® Desktop is available to download in the following versions:
